Hello Everyone!

A beautiful but chilly day here is the South but I am full of holiday cheer.  I am getting ready to do prep work and cook some items for our late Thanksgiving celebration that we are having tomorrow evening.  I may also wrap a Christmas present or two today.  I love the holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating it today.  I have a lot to be thankful for, my children, a job and good home to live in and plenty of food.  That is a LOT!  I am truly thankful.

My children and I did not celebrate the holiday today.  My children actually celebrated with their Dad, my ex-husband and had a great time. We are celebrating on Saturday evening so I have plenty of time to clean, cook and decorate. I baked chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies today and cleaned and cleaned. 

Tomorrow I will boil my chicken and make my cornbread for my dressing and make a cherry cheesecake and deviled eggs. Yummy!  If you have never made dressing in the crockpot, also known as a slow cooker, you do not know what you are missing. 

Well that is all for now but I may have some photos of our celebration Saturday to post.  We will see.

Well it is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! However, Thanksgiving is fast approaching and it is a very wonderful Holiday as well.  It is all about family, gratitude, home and food. Don't forget the food. One of my favorite desserts is Cherry Cheatcake.  I call it this because it has a simliar flavor to a real cheesecake but is light and smooth and not really a cake.

So I thought I would share the recipe here today:

Cherry Cheatcake

1 package of No-Bake Cheesecake Flavored Boxed Mix -- I use Jello No-Bake brand

1 1/2 cups cold milk

2 tbsp sugar 

5 Tbsp Melted Butter

1- 8 oz container of Cool Whip or Extra Creamy Cool Whip 

1 Can Cherry Pie Filling

Mix crust according to package directions and press firmly into a 8x8 deep dish casserole or a 9x9 deep dish casserole. Then mix cheesecake according to package directions and whip in the Cool whip. Spread on top of crust and top with Cherry Pie Filling. Chill.

Other Topping Ideas:

Strawberries

Chocolate covered cherries

Any type of Pie Filling

Candies or Sprinkles

Other options:

Change up the flavor by adding lemon juice or other flavoring to the cake/cool whip mix.

Mix up chocolate chips, toasted pecans and drizzle caramel and chocolate on top.

The possibilities are endless.

This recipe is so simple and easy to make. It is one less thing to worry about during the holidays. You can make a day or two in advance and it travels really well.

Okay I am thinking about a new template for my blog.  I am thinking perhaps a magazine style template.  I have to admit I am intimidated a little because I am truly am a beginner at this and I am lost. I am off the entire week of Christmas and plan to use it for a complete redesign and to work on my other blogs also.

My hardest decision is do I want the design to be clean without much decoration or do I want to go all out and do a TRUE Christmas themed design.  Decisions, decisions.....

I will let you know when I decide. LOL!

So another long word day ahead of me. (My day job.) I just want some time to work on the many projects I have on my list.  I bought a plain wreath and want to decorate it, I want to make some paper cones covered in gift wrap and some fingernail polish ornaments.  Oh well maybe this weekend!

I went to our local Walmart tonight after work and I must say I am very disappointed.  They don't carry most of the main supplies I need to make the Christmas decorations I want really want to make. I also went to two large towns over the weekend and could not find what I wanted.  It makes me a little sad. Oh well I will just have to get creative now won't I?

Can't let a little setback blow my good holiday cheer!

Busy day around here.  I didn't realize how far behind I had gotten on my housework.  Anyway I did not get to take any pictures of my shopping trip bounty, most of which was purchased from the Dollar Store. I will try to get posted in the next couple of days.  I got some really cute stuff although I won't use most of it for this years decorations.

Tonight I have been doing some Christmas window shopping online and there are so many great things out there.  However, my budget does dictate what I buy so I have get the absolute best products I can at the best price. Now I do have some stores on Zazzle so I know I am biased but everything I have purchased from them so far has been excellent quality.   So I found a real bargain tonight that I wanted to let you in on.

Christmas on my mind

Got some ideas what I want to buy my family for Christmas but that may change at any moment.  I am off work the whole week for Christmas this year. First time in many years and I wouldn't mind some beautiful SNOW **********

Are you wishing for SNOW for Christmas or maybe you are more the let's go to the Bahamas person?  This is the first year in years that I feel positive about the upcoming year and really in the mood to go all out for Christmas. Gonna have a Blast and I wish the same for everyone else.

So today I had to work OT on my day job and I haven't had time to do much of anything. However, I have decided on a couple of Christmas Gifts I am going to purchase and I am working on ideas for a Christmas Wreath.  I think I am going to try to do something with Santa or Reindeer.  Any ideas?

Also since I am really getting into the Christmas mood I decided to post a couple of photos that my daughter and I took last Christmas. Here ya go!!!!

Definitely got to work on my photography skills.

Okay so I am in the mood to look at Christmas Cards.  I know alot of people don't send them anymore and that is a shame. I always love to receive them in the mail and display them in my home.  So hopefully I will receive some this year.

I seem to be into abstract Christmas cards, at least today.  You never know with me...LOL!  I found this one and it really spoke to me. I have created some Christmas cards on Zazzle and I am posting one of my favorites today.  It is a little more abstract for me.  I usually go pretty traditional with my cards but I love this one.  I purchased one myself and when I received it I was thrilled with the colors and design.

So I am still looking for ideas for our Christmas feast.  I am trying to find foods that filling yet easy to make. I really want to try some new things.  I will post my menu once I get it figured out.

On another note, I bought a wreath from Hobby Lobby and now have to decide whether to go traditional Christmas colors, modern or with an abstract theme.  I am thinking traditional combined with abstract but that sounds difficult to pull off.

I will definitely post a photo once I have completed it.  Can't wait!

So Christmas is coming up and I have been thinking about doing something different this year. I am thinking about a buffet of different finger foods and desserts.  My family is on board because we will have the usual over the top Thanksgiving feast.  I am searching my recipes, recipe books and especially online.

Any ideas?
